Awile back, Chris gave me the link to a website that has rules for D&D 3.5. I wanted to go over it in the coming months in preperation for Taliesin.

http://www.d20srd.org

I went over a version 3 book someone gave me that I gave to my sister. While going through it, out of all the stuff I read, the only thing I can't figure out is how to make a d3.
There's no way a die can only have three sides.
How do you calculate a d3???

Well, you CAN make a D3... but it involves a combination of Hyperspacial physics, a Quantum Singularity, and a Gerbil...

Heh. Roll a d6 and 1-2 = 1. 3-4 =2. 5-6=3.

And I'm going to be 3.x rules, but anyone who wants to pick up a book should grab the pathfinder rules from amazon. ($30 for a huge really well done book).

Oh, duh. Sheesh, I'm thinking too hard.
Plus I misinterpreted #-#=# as subtraction when I first read it on your post, Chris.
I'm begining to doubt I've learned anything from what I've been reading.

Hah, I'm going to look like that guy from that movie that played a Cleric and died his first time and then obsesses over it. Laughing

There really is only two important rules for D&D.

Rule 1: Have fun.

Rule 0: Don't be a dick.

After that, trust the people who've played before to help you through, and we'll all take some time to teach and learn it. It'll be fine. The books and rules get fudged around quite a bit. Especially by me, because I like to change some of them to help add a different feel to my games.

just remember: dieing in combat while annoying, is a natural part of rpgs
Dieing because of bad dice rolls while doing somehing stupid is very funny
